This month, we want to focus on celebrating our nation’s heroes – veterans. Do you have a special veteran in your life? When was the last time you asked them about their experience in the service or gave them a little gift to show your appreciation?
Take a look at these easy, yet meaningful, ways to show a veteran you care.
A simple “Thank You”– Sometimes a simple thank you can make all the difference in the world. Next time you see a veteran, make sure to thank them for their service. It takes two seconds, but it can provide incredible happiness.
Volunteer – You can volunteer your time to show your gratitude. Wounded Warriors and Veterans Crisis Support are just two groups that are looking for volunteers.
Listen – Sometimes just listening to a veteran talk about their past is the best gift of all. You will also find they have some of the most interesting stories to tell!
Senior Helpers of Des Moines helps many seniors in our community including veterans and spouses of veterans. Our mission is to provide them the in-home care when needed and make a difference in their lives. It is extra special when we have the opportunity to care for those who have served this country. We are grateful for their service and are proud to serve them in their time of need. If you are a veteran or know one that may need some home care assistance, call us at 515-251-7444.
