At Senior Helpers, our mission is to help our clients retain their independence, peace of mind, and quality of life by providing dependable and affordable care in the comfort of their own homes (which can include private residences, independent living, assisted living, and hospice facilities).

Lorin Chevalier, managing director, is responsible for all regional activity of the company. Mr. Chevalier previously served as chief financial officer of American Specialty Health, a nationwide health insurance company based in San Diego, CA specializing in chiropractic, complementary therapies, and healthy living programs. He also served as divisional chief financial officer of ValueOptions, a nationwide health insurance company based in Norfolk, VA specializing in mental health, substance abuse care, and corporate employee assistance programs. Mr. Chevalier also served as chief financial officer of employee benefits administrator, Digital Horizons, after having spent fifteen years in the capital markets including seven years on Wall Street with Drexel Burnham Lambert and the BWCapital subsidiary of Paris-based AXA Group. Mr. Chevalier graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado with a B.S. in business administration. He has done post-graduate work at the University of Colorado and the New York Institute of Finance, and has completed executive programs at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Chevalier served on the board of trustees for the University of Colorado Foundation from 1999-2010.

Sarah Engels, operations manager, directs our team of professional caregivers including LPNs, CNAs, and PCPs. Ms. Engels' experience with the elderly dates back to her childhood when she literally grew up in nursing homes due to her mother’s and father’s respective positions as RN and nursing home administrator. More recently, Ms. Engels served as vice president of operations for Complete Medical Staffing, a national therapy and nurse staffing company, where she was directly responsible for over 250 RNs, PTs, OTs, and SLPs.
