The AARP Smart Driver Course is being offered Tuesday, November 18th from 8am-12:30pm for Rossmoor residents as well as other seniors in the area. The course is designed to help seniors refresh their skills, as well as learn the latest driving laws. After taking the course, seniors may be eligible for discounts on insurance rates (it is advised that seniors contact their own insurance carriers to find out about discount rates). The refresher course is offered to seniors who have taken the eight-hour class or a refresher class within the last three years.
The course costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers (members of AARP must bring proof of membership when signing up for the course to receive the discount). Payments must be made by checks only when signing up for the class. All students are required to bring their driver’s license to class. Seniors must sign up in person in the Recreation Department at Gateway prior to November 18. Class space is limited to the first 25 sign-ups, and priority will be considered for Rossmoor residents.
