Senior Helpers in conjunction with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is  proud to be sponsoring two educational seminars Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospitals Olson Auditorium, in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Nationally renowned dementia care educator Teepa Snow will use true-to-life stories and case studies to help educate professional healthcare providers, from 9 a.m.-noon and family members caring for loved ones, from 3:30-5 p.m.

“ Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA , with more than 30 years of experience, has a unique perspective on how the brain controls our body and our behaviors, giving her the ability to explain how dementia affects a person’s thoughts and actions,” said Bob Tucker, a qualified dementia care provider (QDCP) and co-owner of the Senior Helpers office serving the north and northwest suburbs.

Senior Helpers and Teepa Snow have joined forces on a revolutionary program called Senior GEMS®, which helps professionals and family members care for loved ones battling these devastating diseases. Teepa’s unique classification system makes it easier for people to understand which stage of dementia a person is experiencing, and provides tools to improve the lives of all those impacted by these terrible diseases.

“Teepa Snow’s personal mission is to help families and caregivers care for loved ones who are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia...and she does it so well,” added Abbie Tucker, a senior advocate and client services director, certified senior advisor (CSA), a qualified dementia care provider (QDCP) and co-owner of the local Senior Helpers office.
