Happy to support our local chambers of commerce at their community expo and help educate our neighbors about senior care, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other forms of dementia.
Chicagoland North Staff
"You bring two assets to families that are beyond value...personal caring and understanding of people, and, a level of professionalism that is sensitive to the needs of families. Your caregivers bring comfort, confidence and they remove the loneliness. We are truly grateful for their compassion and commitment." AO, Round Lake, IL
Our office was honored to be selected the Chicago-area Cares Affiliate Office for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA). And, our Senior Gems® Program, with geriatric occupational therapist, Teepa Snow, continues to help more and more families help their loved ones, and themselves, with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other types of dementia.
We are also proud to have been ranked as One of the Top Home Care Agencies in North America, for the last 4 years in a row, by Home Care Pulse ®, the leading independent customer satisfaction research firm in our industry.
Senior Helpers Chicagoland North/Northwest, assists people in so many ways. From meals, and medicine reminders, errands and driving, to laundry, shopping, companionship, housekeeping, visiting friends, Alzheimer's/Parkinson's/dementia care, toileting, bathing, walking, dressing, exercise, surgery prep and recovery--and more.
All of our caregivers are American Citizens or people legally authorized to work here. They are all fluent in English. They are bonded, insured Senior Helpers employees, not independent contractors or illegals. So, you needn't worry about being held liable for their employment taxes, unemployment insurance, or being sued if your caregiver is hurt on the job. You pay no finder's fees to Senior Helpers, and, if our caregiver is unable to make it to work, we find a qualified replacement.
To help ensure the best possible customer safety, care and satisfaction we also assign an experienced industry Client Services Managerto each client. Their role is to learn as much as possible about our client's needs--and wants. They introduce the caregivers to our clients. They provide oversight and coaching to the caregivers and regularly communicate with our clients, and their family members to help ensure the highest level of service, satisfaction and safety.
Our caregiver training program exceeds state regulations...as does our extensive background screening process. As required, every caregiver must be fingerprinted and then approved by the Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department of Public Health. In addition, we also conduct a nationalcriminal background search, a medical fraud and abuse, sexual abuse and social security number screen, a driving record, car insurance and driver's license check. Additionally, we interview people three times and check their references.
Senior Helpers provides services from nearly 300 offices internationally. We're one of the largest and most respected organizations in our industry.

What is the Virtual Dementia Tour?
Learning to create a positive environment for those with dementia can only come from attempting to walk in their shoes. Created by P.K. Beville, a specialist in geriatrics, this valuable, easy to follow experiential tour is designed to instill hope in professional and family caregivers, providing them with a tool to move from sympathy to empathy and better understand the behaviors and needs of their loved ones and patients.
