Senior Helpers is a national leader in professional in-home care assistance services. Founded in Baltimore in 2001, Senior Helpers rapidly built a reputation for providing only the best in dependable, consistent and affordable elderly care services. Senior Helpers Boston North began delivering on Our Promise here in MA in 2008. We have the people, resources, systems and knowledge necessary to make sure our clients get as much or as little help as they need to enjoy living independently at home.

In a state where home care services are unlicensed and unregulated, Senior Helpers Boston North is forever concerned about the potential impact on the elders we serve. Which is why in our first year of operation and every year since we were awarded Accreditation by the MA Home Care Alliance – the closest thing to licensure in MA and standards against which all home care agencies should be held.
We have two nurses on staff full time – our Director of Care and our Client Services Director. Most home care agencies don’t have any nurses. Given the complex care we often to provide to our clients, we wouldn’t do it any other way. Client care is simply too important and nurses on staff help insure our service excellence.
All of our home care aides are employees of Senior Helpers Boston North. We never use contractors. To get hired, our caregivers pass a rigorous national background checks that include criminal, sexual offender registries, and the DMV. Our aides are all bonded and insured.
Merritt owns Senior Helpers. Prior to opening the business in 2008, Merritt worked for nearly twenty years in leadership roles at various non-profits. His entire career has been dedicated to human services and improving the quality of life of those with whom he works. He holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University with a Masters Degree from UNC Chapel Hill. While he loves running business, what Merritt really enjoys most is working directly with elders and their families. If you ever have any questions, Merritt is always just a phone call away and ready to help.
Kathy serves as our Community Relations Coordinator. A truly experienced sales and marketing professional, Kathy has over 10 years experience in health care ranging from Director of Admissions and Marketing at a skilled nursing facility to an Account Executive at one of the largest home health care agencies responsible for business development. Kathy strives to educate the community on aging related issues through extensive marketing campaigns, presentations and networking. Like all of us here at Senior Helpers, Kathy is passionate about customer service.
Gessy Prophete, RN
Gessy serves as our Nursing Director. With more than twenty years experience in the healthcare field, Gessy was an Anesthesiologist in her home country, Haiti. Her extensive medical background includes two years in Continuing Education in France. She participated in implementing a training program for Nurse Anesthetist, in collaboration with “Doctors without Borders”. She worked with “World Bank/IDA” on a project to provide First aid/CPR training and to write emergency protocols for healthcare professionals located in remote parts of the country. In 2006, because of political instability, she moved to the USA with her two children, making a slight shift of carrier toward a Registered Nurse certification. With such extensive experience and compassion, we are fortunate to have Gessy as the leader of our care team.
Nounou serves as our Director of Operations. A graduate from Suffolk University with a BA degree in criminology and Law / Business, Nounou first joined Senior Helpers as a receptionist in 2011. She then became out scheduler and moved her way up to director of client services. Nounou is professional and responsible and is always willing to help out whenever she can. Nounou is responsible for all internal operations and ensuring the best customer service possible for our clients.
Maria serves as our Office Manager. Through her personal passion for elders and families afflicted with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Maria also is Senior Helpers resident expert of care on A&D. She regularly runs educational programs for the community, families and is responsible for implementing Senior Helpers Senior GEMS program. Maria is often the first person you encounter when contacting Senior Helpers. She will always steer you in the right direction.
Nery Perez serves as our Scheduling Coordinator. Perhaps the toughest job in any home care agency, Nery is a professional’s professional. We are lucky to have her as the point of contact for our caregivers for more than two years. She has served the homecare industry since 2001.
