The things that fill my life with thankfulness come in all shapes and sizes, all personalities and quirks.
When the rainy months roll around in the Bay Area, I can't help but be prompted to think about the people, things, and experiences I am thankful for. That is why Thanksgiving is such a great holiday!
Whether you have long standing traditions or do something new each year, we all have something in our lives that makes it worth making memories. We have Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends, and catch up on what everyone has done since we last got together. (OK, there may be some football involved also!) The day after Thanksgiving we take advantage of living in the East Bay and go wine tasting. We like to visit some of our old favorites to stock up on their new releases, and also visit some wineries for the first time. This year the weather was perfect and the fall foliage seemed especially colorful.
Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday season, which continues for another month! The older adults in your life may need some extra help to cope with the holiday preparations. Our caregivers can help with addressing and mailing holiday cards, and help open the cards that are received. They can keep records of the cards that were sent so that no one is forgotten, and no one gets two cards.
